Explanation
ません replaces ます to form the polite non-past negative. Same stem rules as ます.

Common mistakes
✗ たべますじゃありません。
✓ たべません。
Verbs use ません, not じゃありません. じゃありません is for nouns and な-adjectives.
✗ わたしは にくを たべるません。
✓ わたしは にくを たべません。
ません attaches to the verb STEM (drop ます from ます-form). たべる (dict) → たべます (polite) → たべません (polite neg). Don't keep る before ません — that mixes plain-form stem with polite negative ending.
✗ わたしは にくを たべますせん。
✓ わたしは にくを たべません。
Polite negative: drop ます, add ません. The form たべますせん is wrong — you can't combine ます and せん. Pattern: V-stem + ません (single fused form).
Wrong / corrected pairs
✗ いきません か。
✓ いきませんか。
Context: intent: invitation. Spacing: ません + か attached directly (no space).
✗ たべるません。
✓ たべません。
Group-2: drop る then ます/ません. たべる→たべ+ません.
✗ なに たべません か。
✓ なにを たべませんか。
Context: no を. Object marker を required. Dropping を makes the question ungrammatical.
